Absolutely no need to consult a manual after having got used to the navigation. However my 4th one did manage to maintain reception for Classic FM on 100.9 with light reaching max, but ONLY that FM frequency. Quite shocked that all 4 have this fault so it must be a hugely faulty batch if no one else is finding this.
Makes no difference if move the product around the house. Clearly there is internal interference between the lamp and radio. You CAN get perfect reception with the antennae for the radio only until you then press the light button and start increasing brightness. Other customers say they don't have this fault however I have now shockingly had FOUR of these in the space of one week and they ALL have this fault on arrival.

This also means you can't listen to the radio when you want the light on full for reading and you can't false asleep with the radio until the light dims enough for it to play. There is simply no radio reception anymore when ighg achieves full setting of 20. Indeed this is a very sturdily built wakeup light which does gradually wake you up without the shock of a sudden alarm but you can't do that with the radio because the FM radio does NOT work once the light intensity increases past halfway to brightest setting. Sound 5 is seagulls squawking with waves crashing in the background.(FYI - wire in picture is from my fan) Sound 4 is like someone playing a piano melody. Sound 3 is a cookoo bird and other birds chirping. Sound 2 is birds chirping and flute and strings music.
Sound 1 is my preferred sound as it is like birds chirping away to each other. ALSO something worth noting here, it has two alarms so you can set one up for the week and weekend, or different waking up times if you and your S.O have different work times.This has also helped with my S.A.D (seasonal affective disorder) as I can turn it on in the day/ evening.**You can choose between the radio and the 5 sound options. There is also a sunset setting which I use to help me drift off to sleep.It is possible you might need to use to manual to help you figure out some of what to do if you aren't sure but I found it fairly straight forward and only used it once to check something out. Mostly I wake up earlier than my alarm because of the light, but I can wake up just as the sound starts playing to signal your alarm. I actually wanted to get out of bed!The light starts slowly building up before your alarm goes off and your chosen sound will play** at the actual time your alarm is set for. Instead the light wakes me up gently and the first time I used it I said I woke up like a disney princess. I am no longer startled in the mornings by an alarm screeching at me to wake up.
